Plants have evolved highly diverse cell types, tissues, and organs, enabling plants to effectively utilize resources from the environment such as sunlight,CO2, N2,and soil nutrients for their growth, development and reproduction, as well as to adapt to the changing environmental conditions.By integrating various state-of-the-art technologies in AI, synthetic biology, multi-omics, etc., PCF is committed to elucidating the mechanisms underlying the development of key plant structures, to redesign, reconstruct and optimize them for crop improvement as well as for producing high-value small molecules and recombinant proteins. PCF strives to establish low-energy, high-density large-scale cultivation—integrating photobioreactor optimization and intelligent control to cut manufacturing energy use. Additionally, it aims to expand plant cell factory applications in biomedicine, high-value chemicals, and food additives.Ultimately, PCF aspires to build a "light energy-driven - carbon fixation - product synthesis" green manufacturing model, supporting the bioeconomy under carbon neutrality.
