Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology and Nansha Agriculture Corporation Forge a Strategic Partnership — Focusing on the Integrated Development of Agricultural Technology and Industry

On December 24, the 2025 High-Quality Modern Agriculture Development, Investment and Talent Introduction Conference themed “Gathering in Nansha, Cultivating a New Future” was held at the Nansha Urban Agricultural Experimental Park. Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT, hereinafter referred to as “the University”) and Nansha Agriculture Corporation officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. Professor Hu Qiang, Director of the Institute of Emerging Agricultural Technology(iEAT)of SUAT, attended the signing ceremony on behalf of the University.

Under this cooperation,SUAT will leverage the scientific research strengths of iEATto conduct in-depth collaboration with Nansha Agriculture Corporation in agricultural R&D, technology transfer, and industrial application. This will provide strong scientific impetus for the high-quality development of modern agriculture in Nansha, support the upgrading of the agricultural industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and demonstrateSUAT’s commitment to empowering agricultural modernization.

As a university dedicated to scientific and technological innovation,SUAT has always been committed to serving national strategies and empowering industrial development. iEAT has long been engaged in agricultural science and technology, developing solid research expertise and strong R&D capabilities in crop breeding, smart agriculture, green agriculture, and agricultural biomanufacturing, thus providing core research support for this university-local cooperation. The team led by Professor Hu Qiang has long been committed to agricultural research and has gained extensive experience in research innovation and technology transfer. His participation in the ceremony helped lay a solid foundation for the subsequent cooperation between the two parties.

The University has always adhered to the concept of industry-university-research collaborative innovation. It has previously promoted deep integration of research and industry by building joint laboratories, strengthening university-enterprise cooperation, and establishing technology transfer platforms, thereby gaining extensive experience in commercializing research outcomes. This provides a strong guarantee for the strategic cooperation withNansha Agriculture Corporation.

The cooperation leverages the complementary advantages of both parties. As a national leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization, Nansha Agriculture Corporation has built a complete industrial system centered on six modern agricultural industrial parks. It boasts high-quality infrastructure resources, extensive market reach, and rich operational experience in fishery breeding, prepared foods, and protected agriculture. Supported by its professional industrial platform and the policy dividends of the Nansha National Agricultural Opening-Up and Cooperation Pilot Zone, the group provides application-oriented, market-driven channels and comprehensive support for the transformation of research findings fromiEAT, forming a virtuous cycle of “research with support, industry with platforms, and outcomes with market access.”

This strategic cooperation is an important measure for SUAT to respond to the call of Guangdong Province’s “100 Counties, 1000 Towns, 10,000 Villages High-Quality Development Project” and to deepen university-local coordination for empowering industrial development. It is also a tangible example of leveraging the University’s research strengths to support rural revitalization. Going forward,SUATwill take this cooperation as an opportunity, useiEATas the core engine, leverage the technological leadership of its research teams, and continuously deepen comprehensive, multi-level cooperation withNansha Agriculture Corporationin modern agriculture. SUATwill join hands with Nansha Agriculture Corporationto integrate university and local resources, create synergy for cooperation, and jointly draw a new blueprint for high-quality agricultural development. The University will contribute its scientific research strength and intellectual support to the in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and the transformation and upgrading of the agricultural industry in the Greater Bay Area.
