Agriculture is the foundation of a nation and people’s livelihoods. The future of agriculture confronts multiple challenges: food security, human health, ecological protection, and new quality productive forces. The key lies in breakthroughs and in-depth application of technological innovation.
In response, the Institute of Emerging Agricultural Technology (iEAT) at Shenzhen University ofAdvancedTechnology was established with the mission of “addressing challenges, pursuing breakthroughs, and advancing research transfer.” Focusing on current agricultural bottlenecks and future challenges, it pioneers new paths via interdisciplinary innovation.
Leveraging top-tier research capabilities, iEAT is supported by core frontier technologies such as multi-omics, synthetic biology (BT), and AI (IT). It focuses on key areas: next-gen germplasm innovation, plant environmental adaptation, non-arable protein resource development, functional germplasm innovation, agricultural biomanufacturing, and smart urban agriculture—striving for full-chain breakthroughs from basic research to industrial application.
All iEAT teams uphold the philosophy of “pursuing excellence in basic research while transferring outcomes into tangible agricultural productivity gains.” We welcome collaboration with all sectors to inject new momentum into agricultural modernization, advancing steadily toward safeguarding national food security and sustainable agricultural development.
